Come & Stay With Us
Waldo Arms was built in 1978 during the creation of the Alyeska Oil Pipeline, and served as a bunkhouse for oil field and pipeline workers of all walks of life who came to seek their fortune in what is sometimes called “the black gold rush”.
Thousands of people moved into the state seeking jobs and bringing massive amounts of economic development with them. Many of these workers moved on or retired in the years since, but Waldo Arms Hotel remains as a historical landmark, a reminder of the amazing changes that took place in Alaska.
We continue to this day to provide the same comfortable, friendly experience to our visitors, and to support the local community in every way we can.
Owner and operator Martin Connelly began running Waldo Arms in 2017, and gained ownership in 2020.
Working through the height of the covid pandemic, he continued to keep the hotel at its very best. Martin is also a five-star chef trained at Johnson and Wales College, and operates the connected restaurant, which provides you with all meals included during your stay, and provides for the community as well.
You can be sure that no matter the weather outside, you will be comfortable and well fed at our hotel.
